This afternoon enjoy a specialist guided walking tour with a representative from ITIHAAS Walks. Our first journey in Delhi is planned as a ‘taster’. It’s one of the biggest cities in the world, both in size and in population, so the best way to explore is with a guided tour. Co-founder of ITIHAAS, Indian Traditions and Heritage Society, will lead our first, ‘Mughal and Colonial India’ walking tour. Her usual tour group comprises local school children. She takes them on a story-telling walk of the city, connecting them with their cultural past. We will benefit from our guide’s incredible knowledge of the city, and you will be taken to some of those places casual visitors simply wouldn’t see.
Day 3: Delhi – Agra
Morning: You will experience the highlights of Delhi taking in the essential contemporary and historic sites including: Qutab Minar, the highest minaret in India; the Sikh Temple, with its white marble features and spectacular golden dome, and the sleek modern lines of the Lotus Temple, which bears an uncanny resemblance to the Sydney Opera House.
